About Me
In 1997 I completed the Spiritual Lifestyle Program at The Kripalu Yoga Center and later that year worked on staff at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. I am a N.Y.S. Licensed Massage Therapist and Registered Yoga Instructor (E-RYT) with over 12 years of practical experience in the field. I have teaching certifications in Kripalu, ISHTA and Ashtanga yoga schools and studied under Edward Clark of Tripsichore Yoga Theatre in both the U.S. and London. Having maintained a daily meditation practice for the last 15 years, it is emphasized within my teaching. I was trained by Nateshvar Ken Scott in the art of Contact Yoga/Yogassage and have studied massage/bodywork extensively under master healers throughout my travels in Thailand, India and China. I am the creator of Asian Fusion BodyworkSM — a natural evolution of my experience.
Services available throughout the U.S. as my travel schedule permits.
Private Yoga Instruction
Whether you are a complete beginner or more advanced yoga practitioner, a one-on-one session provides detailed instruction and hands-on assistance geared towards your individual needs and level. Traditionally this is how yoga was taught. It's a very effective method to begin a yoga practice or to deepen an existing one.
Asian Fusion BodyworkSM
Asian Fusion BodyworkSM is a highly therapeutic system incorporating a unique blend of soft tissue manipulations, acupressure, yoga assisted stretching, joint mobilization and basic partner balancing. The techniques used are derived from Traditional Thai Massage, Chinese Tui Na and Ayurvedic Modalities from India. Asian Fusion BodyworkSM is a natural evolution of my extensive studies in the East. Benefits include improved circulation, mobility and flexibility, stress reduction, may reduce pain and creates a lasting feeling of well being. There is no oil used, client remains fully clothed.
Swedish Relaxation Massage
With the use of oil Swedish massage uses moderate pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and increase general circulation in the body.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be stronger. It is a focused type of massage that works to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as "adhesions.")
Massage Therapy for Injuries
Whether you have an acute muscle injury or a chronic, aching injury massage can help. I use different techniques to relieve muscle spasms, stretch and realign muscle fibers and fascia, break up scar tissue, release old trigger points, and remove waste and debris from injured muscles. This will allow new blood to circulate; bringing in fresh oxygen to cells and tissue. This treatment assists in the healing of the damaged muscle while relieving pain and discomfort.

Workshops
Fundamentals of the Ashtanga Primary Series on Sunday, September 19th from 1:00pm–4:00pm
hosted by Absolute Yoga, Woodbury, NY.
Ashtanga means "eight limbs" in Sanskrit, which refers to the eight limbs of yoga laid out in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The Ashtanga method of asana practice was interpreted by Krishnamacharya and Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois from ancient text entitled the Yoga Korunta, which described a unique system of hatha yoga. The Primary Series, also known as Yoga Chikitsa (meaning yoga therapy), realigns the spine, detoxifies the body and builds strength, flexibility and stamina. The series of about 75 poses takes 1 1/2-2 hours to complete, beginning with sun salutations and moving on to standing and seated poses, backbends and inversions. This workshop is an opportunity to learn the Primary Series at a slow, meditative pace, with detailed instruction and individual assistance by Adam, who has been studying Ashtanga yoga for over 15 years. Each section of the practice will be broken down and explained with time for questions. Please note that this workshop is for those who practice vinyasa style yoga and have experience with sun salutations and chaturanga. This is not for beginner students. Pre-registration is required.
